Topic of the Month: eBPF & security

eBPF? Runtime / language to work directly with the kernel in Linux (flexible and efficient virtual machine-like construct) – used in a number of kernel subsystems (e.g. networking, tracing and security (e.g. sandboxing)!). More efficient, more secure! We’ll use Cilium as an example for an eBPF based implementation, talk about security and how you can do security better, and easier.

THEME:
Let’s meet for an informative session where you can ask security experts any questions you have in your mind no mater how basic or advanced that is. Every month we try to have a different topic, and there’s always time to discuss anything important to you as well!

SecTalks takes place at the CIC innovation community – and part of the Venture Cafe Rotterdam gathering which is now (temporarily?) on halt.

Doors for SecTalks open at 17:30 we have drinks (and some snacks). SecTalks session starts at 18:30. If you are there earlier, drop a line so we can connect and socialize more.

As always, it’s an open session, with a conversational, discussion type approach – so join earlier, and stay later! And of course, bring your curiosity, ask questions and share thoughts, and help make the session a meaningful one for everyone joining ^-^.

On a monthly basis, this is a technical security break out, continuing the SecTalk Hollands series of gatherings at CIC, as part of the global SecTalks.org initiative! SecTalks is a non-profit session for technical security talks and hands-on security challenges! A forum to learn & discuss technical (in)security stuff.

As per the event series, join this break out session for a guest experts’ views and thoughts on a couple of infosec related topics, knowledge sharing and a short Capture The Flag competition! In a digital, all connected world, information security matters immensely!
