Infosecurity Belgium 2018

“Making data-driven business thrive.”

How can organisations – big and small, commercial and public – make their data-driven business thrive? What about privacy, security, storage, and management? Infosecurity.be, Data & Cloud Expo on 14 and 15 March 2018, aim to provide visitors with practical suggestions for creating a set-up that focuses on a data-centred world and optimum use of data in organisations.

The eight themes that will be addressed:

Cloud Computing; Businesses need to set up their IT infrastructures based on a huge diversity of computing requirements. Requirements for computing capacity and data storage often call for a cloud-based approach. But the transition to cloud models requires great effort and many changes.

Cyber Security; Organisations need to be aware that their data is often insufficiently secure. Data security alone is no longer sufficient. Organisations must ensure that proactive protection is in place against cybercriminals, who are continually pushing the boundaries and finding new modes of attack.

Datacenter & Infrastructure Optimisation; For any data-driven organisation it is important for the infrastructure to have the communication between all components and technologies properly organised. There is no single infrastructure that is suitable for the wide variety of computing requirements. What are the best options when it comes to a digital infrastructure in which reliability, availability and scalability are guaranteed?

Data Growth & Storage Capacity; In the Data Centric World data is everywhere. But it is not only about generating data; it should also be possible to store this data anywhere. Take, for example, peripherals that use data to offer high-quality services. Such equipment must be able to operate independently and therefore needs to be able to store data independently.

Digital Workplace; The use of mobile devices in business allows employees to work anywhere and have access to data from any location. In practice, however, enabling mobility is more complex than theory suggests. Businesses shouldn’t delay looking to the future and setting up their work processes for mobility. Additionally, IPv6 is a condition for good connectivity between systems and mobile devices.

IT Service Management & Control; Data puts organisations in a position that allows them to pro-actively offer relevant services. Using data also allows businesses to better meet internal user needs. Without management, data is no more than a bulk of useless information.

Privacy; Governance & Risk Management; Data always has an owner; privacy issues are, therefore, inevitable. Your organisation is required, for example, to comply with laws and regulations in the area of data protection and privacy in order to avoid huge penalties.
